Our CEO and co-founder, Marc Heyneker, recently worked with HotelExecutive’s editorial team to help kick off their “Voices in the Time of Crisis” series. This new series focuses on how COVID-19 is affecting the hospitality industry and offers perspectives from both hoteliers and suppliers, focusing on how they’re planning and executing, from both a short and long term perspective.
This is a moment for the entire community to pull together and share. In Marc’s words, “Now, with COVID-19 wreaking havoc on the industry, we truly are in this together. I know it will be a battle, but I am confident that we will come out successful on the other end.”

With employees safe, I turned my attention to our clients. I shared with the company that our number one priority is to remain empathic and responsive to constant change so we can best serve our customers. I reached out to clients to let them know we were in this together. I listened. I didn’t have answers. I can’t count the number of times I said, “I don’t know.” But it felt good to connect one-on-one.
We also created the first online COVID-19 resource center for the industry with free videos, templates and other curated best practices. We partnered with revenue management expert Sherri Kimes to survey hoteliers about the effects of coronavirus on the industry. We shared the results in a webinar and had Sherri present best practices for recovery. While this pandemic is unprecedented, Sherri reminded us that we weathered 9/11, SARS and the housing crisis. We got through those storms and we will get through this one, together.
