Twitter Places Update
Foursquare and Facebook let you claim your business. And Twitter appears to be next in line. According to PC World, “Twitter is testing out a new feature that will enable businesses to claim their Place–expanding the functionality of its geolocation feature.”
Twitter Places launched in June of this year and allows people to Tweet from a specific location. While the rumors swirl about what new features Facebook Places might include, it’s clear that Twitter is testing out the service, as Twitter HQ has been ‘claimed’.
As we saw from Facebook last week, allowing places of business to claim their listing is the next step in allowing businesses to offer location based deals, and, as a result, become a valuable business tool and marketing platform.
